SARAJEVO, August 25 (FENA) – On the night of August 25–26, 1992, Sarajevo City Hall, then home to the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was shelled and set ablaze. The fire irreversibly destroyed around two million books, journals, articles, manuscripts and other library materials. Today marks 34 years since one of the most devastating attacks on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s cultural heritage.
